Running out of coffee can be devastating. And when your local Starbucks is closed for remodeling, it can be downright heartbreaking.

So we wrote separation notes to loyal Starbucks customers to let them know their favorite store needed a break, just for a little while, to find themselves. It was our way of disarming what could have been a frustrating experience for customers.

Our little campaign made it into New York magazine, just below Britney Spears and just above CBGBs closing down - which isn’t a bad place to be if your relationship is on a break.
